💡Not sure what Nominativ or Akkusativ means?Word Functions →Passive Voice
Explicação
Present passive (Vorgangspassiv Präsens)
German passive voice uses werden + Partizip II. It focuses on the action or process rather than the person performing it. This is the Vorgangspassiv (action passive), the most common type.
Formation: werden (present) + Partizip II
| Person | Structure | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ich | werde + PP | Ich werde gefragt. (I am being asked.) |
| du | wirst + PP | Du wirst eingeladen. |
| er/sie/es | wird + PP | Das Haus wird gebaut. |
| wir | werden + PP | Wir werden informiert. |
| ihr | werdet + PP | Ihr werdet beobachtet. |
| sie/Sie | werden + PP | Die Pakete werden geliefert. |
Active vs. passive
| Active | Passive |
|---|---|
| Der Arzt untersucht den Patienten. | Der Patient wird (vom Arzt) untersucht. |
| Man baut ein neues Haus. | Ein neues Haus wird gebaut. |
Agent with von
The agent (doer) is expressed with von + dative: Das Haus wird von den Arbeitern gebaut.
Passive with modal verbs
Modal (present) + Partizip II + werden (infinitive at end): Das muss sofort gemacht werden.
⚠️ Don't confuse werden in Futur I (+ infinitive) with passive werden (+ Partizip II): Er wird kommen (future) vs. Er wird gerufen (passive).
Exemplos
Das Haus wird renoviert.
