"The more I study, the better it gets." German turns this into je…desto — and the trap is that the two halves follow opposite word-order rules.

In the je half the verb goes to the end. In the desto half the verb sits in position 2, right after the comparative.

After desto comes the comparative and then the verb.

🧠 je = subordinate, verb last. desto = main, comparative then verb.
