💡Not sure what Nominativ or Akkusativ means?Word Functions →Verbs with Preposition — Use 2 (Pronominal Adverb + Infinitive)
Explicação
Pronominal adverbs: da(r)- and wo(r)-
When a verb has a fixed preposition and the object is a thing (not a person), German uses a pronominal adverb instead of a pronoun + preposition.
| Rule | Example |
|---|---|
| Person → preposition + pronoun | Ich warte auf ihn. (him) |
| Thing → da(r) + preposition | Ich warte darauf. (on it) |
Formation
| Preposition | da(r)-form | wo(r)-form (question) |
|---|---|---|
| auf | darauf | worauf |
| über | darüber | worüber |
| mit | damit | womit |
| für | dafür | wofür |
| an | daran | woran |
| von | davon | wovon |
Vowel-initial prepositions: dar-/wor- (darauf, worüber). Consonant-initial: da-/wo- (damit, womit).
